Agriculture Sales Specialist

The position reports to the US Sales & Marketing Manager. This is a Senior Sales position with the overall role of building and managing existing clients and opening new clients in our US agricultural infrared market. The incumbent will work independently to define, strategize and implement a sales strategy to grow the agricultural segment. He/she will responsible for managing all agriculture related sales activities in the US, including setting goals, strategies, action plans, direct sales, customer relations, and related financial performance in all sales related areas. The incumbent will also support company-wide initiatives related to agriculture as may occur in other (overseas) markets. Position requirements:

  • Provide goals and strategic business building direction for US agriculture markets
  • Provide action plans to support strategic direction
  • Take appropriate actions to deliver goals

  • Regularly visit client engineers/growers/specifiers – train and support on SRP products
  • Provide design, layouts and quotations – in support of clients
  • Provide agriculture related applications advice where required
  • Attend trade shows and execute the appropriate “lead” follow-up calls/meetings
  • Attend agriculture related association conferences and participate in the best interests of SRP
  • Support the marketing and promotional efforts of SRP
  • Assist in preparation of annual agricultural sales and related expense budget
  • Prepare and review agriculture related forecasts, providing monthly and quarterly up-dates as needed
  • Manage expenses to budget
  • Regularly visit SRP head office in Stoney Creek, as needed to review business and build head office relationships
  • Regularly visit SRP office in Indiana, Fortville, as needed to coordinate agriculture sales efforts with staff located in Indiana.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Technical agriculture related sales experience. Infrared experience an asset
  • Track record of demonstrated/proven ability to build a territory or business
  • Have an established contact base in agriculture related industries (poultry, hog, dairy etc.)
  • Has credible, trustworthy relationships with clients
  • Applications experience – engineered preferred
  • Ability to design layouts
  • Proficient with AutoCAD
  • MS Office skills, Navision and CRM or similar software
  • American Citizen
